Inspir\u00e9e du style n\u00e9o-byzantin, la Basilique a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite selon les plans de l&#8217;architecte Andr\u00e9 Gaillardin. Elle est dot\u00e9e d\u2019un sublime d\u00f4me en son centre, ainsi que deux h\u00e9misph\u00e8res lat\u00e9raux aux formes arrondies, le tout agr\u00e9ment\u00e9 de croix celtiques d\u2019origine irlandaises.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Un projet de grande envergure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Au fil du temps, les ouvertures se sont us\u00e9es et n\u2019assurent plus l\u2019\u00e9tanch\u00e9it\u00e9. D\u2019autre part, plusieurs parties de<br \/>\nl\u2019\u00e9difice pr\u00e9sentent un \u00e9tat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de d\u00e9gradation d\u00fb \u00e0 la forte pr\u00e9sence d\u2019humidit\u00e9 et aux infiltrations d\u2019eau.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bient\u00f4t 100 ans<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Inaugur\u00e9e le 21 ao\u00fbt 1927, elle f\u00eatera ses 100 ans en 2027. Orn\u00e9 de marbres et de vitraux, cet \u00e9difice est un patrimoine d\u2019une exceptionnelle richesse, remarquable par sa beaut\u00e9 et son architecture en forme de croix.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Des travaux urgents sont n\u00e9cessaires<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nous sommes arriv\u00e9s au point o\u00f9 des travaux urgents sont n\u00e9cessaires. Le montant du projet s\u2019\u00e9l\u00e8ve \u00e0 20 millions de roupies. Un \u00e9tat des lieux a \u00e9t\u00e9 effectu\u00e9 afin de cibler les zones prioritaires :<\/p>\n<p>Le clocher souffre d\u2019importantes d\u00e9gradations structurelles qui menacent sa stabilit\u00e9.<br \/>\nD\u2019importantes infiltrations d\u2019eau endommagent la structure et le mobilier.
